Types of filler

Belotero

OVERVIEW

Similar to Juvederm, Belotero is the softest FDA-approved hyaluronic acid facial filler. Belotero works by creating a cushion effect which fills in the spaces causing wrinkles, lines and creases. This facial filler is best suited for those delicate fine lines found under the eyes and around the mouth.

inside scoop

Belotero is less viscous than similar hyaluronic acid fillers, allowing it to be used in the finer more superficial lines of the face—like the lines of the upper lip—without creating bulk.

Bellafill

OVERVIEW

Bellafill is a collagen-based filler that’s FDA-approved for filling lines around the mouth and acne scars. Bellafill is known for its long-lasting results, with some patients seeing results for up to five years.

What you should know

Bellafill eliminates the need to return to your aesthetician every 6 months for touch-up filler treatments. Its dual formulation sets the stage with a boost of collagen. The body slowly absorbs this collagen, but the bovine collagen and polymethylmethacrylate microspheres (PMMA) stay and act as a scaffold for new collagen production.

Juvéderm

The Juvéderm brand is a family of hyaluronic acid fillers, each offering a unique formula to treat a specific region of the face or type of wrinkle.

Juvéderm Ultra XC

Used for the treatment of lip lines and thinning lips.

Juvéderm Voluma

Volumizes natural contours creating more volume and lift.

Juvéderm Volbella

Used to plump lips and fine vertical lines.

Juvéderm Vollure

Vollure is often used to treat mild and moderate lines.

Inside Scoop

Juvéderm is FDA-approved and favored by aestheticians for use on medium to deep lines and wrinkles due to its thicker consistency.

RADIESSE

OVERVIEW

Radiesse is a facial filler used to add volume to the cheeks and jawline. It’s hyaluronic acid-based but leaves behind particles of calcium hydroxylapatite that take longer for the body to absorb. The calcium hydroxylapatite adds structure to a wrinkle’s weakened dermal tissue and provides the ideal footing for new collagen production to begin.

What you should know

Radiesse+ offers the same results as Radiesse with the addition of lidocaine, a local anesthetic that helps reduce pain around the injection site.

Sculptra

OVERVIEW

Sculptra offers an alternative to hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm. Sculptra is administered in a series of injections over several weeks and was designed to slowly absorb over time, encouraging natural collagen production. The result? Giving the face a gradually volumized and lifted look.

INSIDE SCOOP

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra is non-reversible — but don’t let that scare you. It’s one of the most popular facial fillers with especially long-lasting and beautiful results.

KYBELLA

OVERVIEW

With two to six monthly injection sessions, Kybella destroys the fat cells that dwell underneath the chin. Notoriously hard to get rid of, Kybella uses deoxycholic acid, a molecule that aids in the absorption and digestion of dietary fat, in order to eliminate that pesky double chin.

What you should know

Once the fat cells underneath the chin are destroyed, they do not come back, making Kybella a popular choice for those seeking a “one and done” solution. Once you complete the necessary treatment schedule, you’re all done!
